Region- Goriška Brda
Grape- 40% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot
Vineyard- The vines are grown on terraces at 80-150 metres above sea level, with exposure varying from east to south-west. Vines are between ten and twenty-five years and grow on loam soils. The vineyards benefit from a sub-Mediterranean climate with a mixture of warm sea air and the influence of cold winds from the Alps. Grapes were harvested exclusively by hand.
Winery- The different varieties were vinified separately, and spent between eight and ten days fermenting in stainless steel tanks at temperatures between 25 and 28°C. The wine then spent twelve months maturing in large oak barrels.
Taste- Fruity bouquet of blackcurrant, strawberry bush and plum, leading to a smooth, full-bodied palate with a long finish.
